Italian painter Ippolito Caffi (1809-1866)

The Italian painter Ippolito Caffi (1809-1866) is completely independent of city views and the most important architectural views.

On accompanying watercolor, dating from 1863, view of the Parthenon at the Greek city of Athens. Central is the temple of Athena Parthenos (the Virgin), the berscherm saint of the city.
