The Dordogne used to be turbulent, but nowadays it flows at a slower pace through unspoilt gorges from a dam to a dam. Along the river are many
sporting or quiet trips to make such as swimming, fishing, hiking or canoeing. The region has a wide range of cultural and natural heritage and there is a lot of special architecture. The Dordogne is the only river in France that is part of the World Heritage site of UNESCO Biosphere Reserves.
In the Périgord, the river meanders through a beautiful landscape, dotted with castles such as Beynac, La Roque Gageac and Castelnaud.
