Beynac et Cazenac from the sky , Imagine…
Shortly before sunset or at sunrise. After you have helped prepare for the flight, you will leave with Lionel, a professional balloonist and paraglider who has been working as a guide in the Dordogne for 15 years. The hot-air balloon
floats gently above castles, follows the river as it winds with the wind and offers you the most beautiful journey ever … A moment of weightlessness that you will never forget!
Ballooning, the principle of aerostation
The principle of aerostation consists of warming the air in the balloon with a burner until it becomes lighter than the air outside the balloon. Once the correct temperature is reached, the balloon can take off. During the flight, the pilot will raise or lower the temperature depending on whether he wants the balloon to move up or down.
The balloon moves solely due to the different air flows that the driver uses during steering. That’s why you always know where you’re going, but knowing where you’ll land is much more unpredictable: the charm of every ride is in the air!
You fly above the most remarkable landscapes of the region … A rich and versatile natural environment where classified sites, castles and some of the most beautiful villages in France follow each other along the river Dordogne.
Flights are scheduled at sunrise or shortly before sunset, when the wind is calm and the conditions are best for ballooning. In winter it is possible to fly during the day because the sun is low in the sky and as a result the surface of the earth does not receive enough heat to create wind turbulence.
From childhood I loved the nature and the landscapes of the Perigord Noir which became my playground. Canoeing, caving, climbing, mountain biking, orienteering, paragliding, river diving: being involved in all these activities naturally leads me to share them with other people in a touristic or sporting context. I am a qualified teacher canoeing, river guidance,
two-seater paragliding and ballooning. I can offer you a little more than a balloon flight and I will gladly share some tips for you to enjoy your stay in the Black Périgord.
Kind regards Pierre , Beynac et Cazenac.
